Enabling Keyboard Shortcuts in Gmail

I recently found out that Gmail has turned off keyboard shortcuts as a default setting in the browser version of their email client. I like to use keyboard shortcuts and frequently use the shortcuts to create custom commands in Dragon NaturallySpeaking. Here are the steps to turn on your keyboard shortcuts:

Open Gmail in your browser

Click on the gear on the far right side of the screen Gmail Settings Gear with arrow

Click on Settings Make sure you are on the General tab

Gmail general tab with arrow

Scroll about half down through the list and click on turn keyboard shortcuts on

Setting window Gmail with arrow

Scroll to the bottom and click on save changes
