Is my email secure?

The answer to this is…probably not. There is a misconception that when an email is sent between two parties that it cannot be open or read by anyone else. Standard email uses 1 of 4 protocols to send email back and forth; IMAP, SMTP, POP3 and HTTP. None of these are secure or encrypted. Which means anyone on the Internet with the right software can view the contents! There are several companies that offer secure email the one  I am familiar with is Zixcorp. So never send personal  information such as credit card numbers, social security numbers or anything you don’t want to share with everyone in the world.
